My name is Robin Burton, the founder of Ivys Corsetry. I have been sewing professionally for 30+ years and am proud to share my skill and knowledge in designing and building corsets. Preserving and sharing the lost art of corsetry is where my Heart is, especially when it makes someone feel beautiful or confident.
Ivys Corsetry is a private, custom corset business located in Sterling Heights, Michigan USA where we welcome all body types. We are focused on producing a superior quality, perfectly-fitted garment that our customers will wear with pride, comfort and satisfaction. It is our goal to communicate and educate our customers on the different styles of corsets and the looks that can be achieved with each. Inspiration comes from fabrics and historical images. Corsets are traditionally made with 3 layers of fabric, steel busk and steel bones (both spiral and flat), 2-piece grommets and tubular corset lacing. The details are what sets each corset apart from one another and can range from lace trim, fan lacing, etc. Our corsets are made to fit a person’s own individual measurements, detail specifications, and purpose.
